By default, the eGauge meter uses DHCP to obtain an IP address from the local network. However, in some instances this may not be allowed. In these cases the eGauge can be configured to use a static IP address on that network. The network administrator or IT person managing the network in question will need to provide some network details. Note that changing the Hostname field will cause the eGauge to lose its ability to connect to the eGauge proxy server - do not change this setting!


If in doubt, a static IP address is most likely not required. eGauge support can assist with setting a static IP address, but cannot guarantee that the values used in that address are correct for the network.
